CloudBees Service Partner

We’ve been using the CloudBees Platform as a Service (PaaS) for few years now. Not exclusively, but when it’s the right choice, it does a great job of clearing the way so we can focus on the application, and not on the hardware, hosting, bandwidth, build, deployment and operating system details.

If you’re not familiar with the concept, I can summarise it as providing a hosting platform where you pay for what you use, and can scale up or down the size or number of servers (“cells” in CloudBees terminology). On top of that there’s a very nice continuous deployment and zero downtime updates model. What that means is, when a feature is complete, we can deliver it without a song and dance, or writing custom deployment scripts. That’s all someone else’s problem (CloudBees, specifically) so we can focus on what we do.

It’s not all unicorns and rainbows: there are implications to cloud integration, and techniques to make the most of the environment. However, CloudBees use standard tools in our industry, which gives us confidence from not being locked in to a proprietary range of technologies.

There’s an ecosystem of technology partners supplying databases, logging tools, monitoring tools, email tools that we can use. And there are service partners who can help you make the most of CloudBees, by building applications that make use of the platform.

As of today, Underscore are a Service Partner for CloudBees.

This closer relationship will help us, and our clients, make the most out of the platform.

About CloudBees

CloudBees (www.cloudbees.com) provides a Java Platform as a Service that enables Continuous Cloud Delivery (CCD), accelerating the development and deployment of web and mobile applications. With CCD, development teams can quickly deploy applications and make frequent incremental updates to them. By eliminating the friction caused by provisioning, maintaining and administering complex hardware and software infrastructure, CloudBees allows developers to do what they do best: develop cool applications. The CloudBees Platform provides a set of services, instantly activated with a click, that allow developers to rapidly build and run new business applications with zero IT administrative overhead. CloudBees serves the needs of a wide range of businesses from small startups that need to quickly create new on-line businesses, to large IT organizations that need to rapidly respond to dynamic market opportunities. Follow CloudBees on Twitter (@CloudBees) and on Facebook. You can also try CloudBees for free.

Backed by Matrix Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners, CloudBees was founded in 2010 by former JBoss CTO Sacha Labourey and an elite team of middleware and open source technology.
